First stop this month is one of our favorite places to camp - a Walmart Parking Lot!  This one is in Laramie Wyoming.

A new campground for us - J & C RV Park in Alliance Nebraska.  Nice place for an overnight stay, even if it is a little overpriced.  Easy next day trip to the Rapid City area.

Alliance is the home of the famous "Carhenge", so we just had to check it out -.just a short drive from our campground.

As you can see, Carhenge is a take-off of Stone Henge - just using old cars instead of stones.  It was very interesting to say the least.

Our new home at Rushmore Shadows RV Resort in Rockerville South Dakota - just a stones throw from Rapid City.  50 amp full hookup for the outrageous price of $10.00 a night!!!!!!!  Jackpot!!!

The rest of our stay was at Hart Ranch Resort just a few miles away.  We are in the "Meadows" once again - no sewer and much higher price.  Still we had a good stay and now we are closer to were Lew is parked.

Day trip to Hill City for a beautiful lunch at the Alpine Inn with Lew and new friend Chris.  Stopped here for some wine tasting - wonderful.  Clouds were building up, so we headed back down the hill to our campground before the deluge could catch us.

Safely home we hunker down waiting for this storm.  We had many storms while we were in South Dakota, but this one would prove to be one of the more memorable ones.

Lots of thunder and lightening, but no rain on us yet.  This rainbow was awesome!

Even got a double rainbow - the storm was raging to the North of us, still no rain on us.

The storm finally hits us and the lightening gets closer - this is at 10pm .... bright as daytime!

Another lucky shot - 10:50 pm this time.  Sure wanting to be out of this area.  We got some small hail and a little rain, but about 20 miles South of us they got Tennis Ball size Hail!!!!!  Time to get out of Dodge for sure.

During our stay in the Rapid City area we did many things which I don't have pictures of.  We visited Shipwreck Lee's Bar and Grill several times, attended a House Warming at Lee and Shari's new home,  plus many more fun things with Good Friend Lew and his new friend Chris.

After leaving Rapid City, we stayed a couple nights at the Wind River RV Park in Riverton Wyoming.  Not much going on in Riverton - we had a nice relaxing time.  Lew caught up to us before we traveled together to Moran Junction.

Quiet parking spot near Moran Junction Wyoming - usually empty, but today we had company.  We arrived and got settled quickly - it is truly a beautiful spot.

The Grand Teton Mountains are in the background.  We stopped here with Lew because this is a very special spot for him and his departed wife Dottie.  They spent a special Wedding Anniversary here several years ago, before Dottie got sick.  Lew wanted to spread some of her ashes in this special place - we were honored to be included in this stop with him.  This evening we shared dinner and some visiting with our neighbors, then at sunset Lew spread Dottie's ashes.  The next morning after sharing breakfast we both headed on to the West.

Our new home in the park!  One of our favorite campgrounds is a tiny ex-mobile home park in Thorton Idaho - just South of Rexburg.  It's like camping in the park, but close to Idaho Falls.

Across the street from our campground is a small potato processing plant that gives guided tours.  We enjoyed the tour and was given some Idaho Russet Potatoes at the end.

The Potato trucks dump the potatoes into this big deep bin where they are washed to get all the dirt off of them.  The picture looks horrible, but it was very interesting in person.

Here the potatoes are being sprayed with an anti-sprouting solution - that explains how the potatoes can be transported and in the stores for so long without sprouting.  Obviously the spray doesn't work forever cause after you bring the potatoes home it doesn't take too long before they do sprout!

These are the #1 GIANTS!  They usually go to restaurants that want to do the huge stuffed potatoes.

This was our prize for taking the tour.  We learned interesting things about the potato industry and got to enjoy some nice fresh Idaho Russet Potatoes!  As you can see these are not the "Giants" - even so they are the perfect size to bake!

A view of the Falls in Idaho Falls Idaho.  We had a very nice week visiting Family in Idaho Falls.  We got to meet Linda's newest Grand-Nephew, had a nice gathering with some of Linda's Sister's friends and some good quality time with Linda's Brother, Sister, and Brother-in-Law.

Time to move further West - first night out of Idaho Falls was a stop at the Elks Lodge in Caldwell Idaho.  Very easy to get to and nice level Electric and Water sites - perfect for a one night stay on our way to Oregon!
