We arrived at the Monaco Service Center in Coburg Oregon on July 15 for our appointment on the 16th. We were assigned a spot and got settled in - well as settled in as you can get when you are expected to be ready to roll at 0730 in the morning!
Our main purpose for coming to Monaco was to get a new Inverter/Converter installed. While we were here we had a few additional items taken care of. We tried to get one done in Gillette at the rally there, but they did not have enough tech's and they did not have the part required. When we are hooked up to city water, our fresh water tank slowly fills and then overflows - not good especially when you are at a park that requires you to conserve water. They replaced the valve and all should be good. The toilet was having a problem operating correctly, so they fixed that as well. Several years ago we were told that the rubber shroud around the radiator was deteriorating, so thought it was about time to get that worked on. Before we left Monaco, we had to be taken back in twice for problems with the Inverter Auto Gen Start module. Seems that the first tech wasn't very experienced and the great tech tried to explain to him how to fix his problems. The first tech misunderstood the instructions and really screwed it all up, so the great tech (Brian Weatherly) fixed us up and now we are good to go.
During our stay at Monaco, we took a day off to take the Coach to Cummins NorthWest for our yearly maintenance stuff - including service for the Generator. Getting harder and harder to get underneath to change the oil and do the maintenance service.
With all our service work completed (we think at this point), we moved to Harrisburg Oregon to a really nice RV park to rest and relax for a week.
A big bonus at this park is all the blackberry vines behind our spot along the little creek that dumps into the Williamette River. They are full of ripe berries, so we went to work harvesting some. So yummy on ice cream!!!!
Our last night in Harrisburg and we were delighted with a very unique and beautiful sunset!
As we prepared to leave Harrisburg for Albany, we spotted a fairly large puddle of something under the Generator. Since we had just gotten the Generator serviced at Cummins - we headed back to see if the problem was caused by them. Since we had just gotten the Generator serviced, they gave us priority and got us looked at right away. Turns out the problem had nothing to do with the service - the container that holds the coolant had developed a crack! Still don't understand how it could happen without a sign being seen during the service, but all is well that ends well. We were done in short order and could have continued on the Albany, but decided to take advantage of a free night of camping as compensation. We have also noticed that our fresh water tank is filling again while we are on city water. We went to Monaco (just a couple blocks away) and they made us an appointment to return to get it re-checked. Unfortunately for us the appointment is on August 14th! Not good as we have plans to be elsewhere at that time. They assured us that if they could work us in early they would make every effort to do so. At this time we are playing things by ear and might have to return to Coburg on the 11th instead of going to LaPine. We have 4 days of hookups to see if the problem solves itself or not. We will make a decision on the 6th as to what we will do. Stay tuned!!!
Finally made it to Albany Oregon and the Blue Ox RV Park. We will be here for 4 nights then move to the fairgrounds around the corner for the FMCA NorthWest Area Rally.
